A journey through history
Cultural entertainment activities are the core element of the service offerings proposed by the cooperative. They are aimed at raising awareness, with an
original and innovative approach
, the cultural heritage of the Agri Valley National Archaeological Museum, Roman Theater. Technological and multimedia solutions, on the other hand, are to be considered primarily as an
enabling factor
, instrumental to the delivery of cultural animation activities to be carried out with the support of guides and animators.
Support attraction enhancement by stimulating tourists’ interest in visiting and learning about the artistic and cultural heritage of these attractors;
To support the development ofinclusive cultural offerings that promote the full enjoyment of artistic and cultural heritage by all users, with special reference to people with special needs;
To encourage the revitalization of tourism in Basilicata (with particular reference to cultural tourism), after the crisis that has hit the sector in the last 2 years.

As of 2018, when people talk about Basilicata, they think of Matera. After the echo from Matera European Capital of Culture onward, the history and other monuments of this region seem to disappear. Actually Basilicata, besides the beautiful capital city, offers many other wonders. Undeniably, however, there remains a growing positive trend that must be, through, for example, our project, opportunities for so-called ‘smaller’ areas.
An indispensable support for success

Solidarity and inclusion
The first aspect concerns theaccessibility of cultural heritage and the entertainment services dedicated to it. The organization of entertainment activities expressly aimed at users with disabilities (and, especially, users with non-motor disabilities) is an element that can make cultural attractions increasingly accessible to all types of users, removing any possible barriers to enjoyment. It has already been mentioned in this project proposal that much progress has been made in recent years in terms of accessibility for users with disabilities. Such progress, however, has mainly been in the area of barrier removal for users with mobility disabilities. Little has been done to facilitate the enjoyment of cultural heritage by users with hearing or visual impairments. Cooperative Grumen ‘s project proposal aims to help bridge this gap through the development of specific services aimed at enabling the full enjoyment of cultural heritage by these categories of users as well.
This possibility is pursued through the implementation of animation activities focused on combining the storytelling principle. Animation activities will favor the use of a narrative approach and storytelling techniques, which, due to their high capacity to engage the user, are a powerful tool for enabling full user identification with the context in which the artistic and cultural heritage is embedded. Even in seminar-type activities, workshops, thematic events, the narrative dimension will prevail, which will be functional to “tell” the peculiarities of the culture of the place and thus of the attractor. The storytelling will be entrusted to experts and scholars in the field, the operators of the Grumen cooperative, volunteer members, educators, accompanying persons.
